Fukutsu, Coastal municipality in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan
Fukutsu stretches between Mount Kohbi and the Genkai Sea, covering 52.76 square kilometers with a population density of 1300 persons per square kilometer.
The formation of Fukutsu occurred on January 24, 2005, through the merger of Fukuma and Tsuyazaki towns, which were previously part of Chikugo Province.
The Miyajidake Shrine attracts over two million visitors annually and features a three-ton straw rope, a ceremonial bell, and a taiko drum.
The city connects to major urban centers through the JR Kyushu Kagoshima Main Line, with trains departing regularly from Fukuma Station to Hakata Station.
During February and October, the sun sets in alignment with the main boulevard connecting Miyajidake Shrine to the sea, creating a natural phenomenon.
