The memorial stands at the summit of Mount Omine, featuring a bronze design that replicates the deck and main guns of the battleship Mikasa.
The monument commemorates the Battle of Tsushima in 1905, where Admiral Togo led the Imperial Japanese Navy to defeat the Russian Baltic Fleet.
Two copper plates on the memorial display Admiral Togo's portrait and signal flags, embodying Japanese naval traditions and military excellence.
Visitors can reach the memorial through a 30-minute walk from Tsuyazaki Bridge bus stop, with parking available for 60 vehicles at the base.
The memorial was initially planned to be named Victory Monument, but Admiral Togo opposed the term victory out of respect for casualties on both sides.
