Fukushima-ku, Administrative ward in central Osaka, Japan
Fukushima-ku stretches across 4.67 square kilometers between the Yodo River in the north and the Dojima River in the south of Osaka.
The district evolved from a suburban farm village in the Edo period to an industrial center, marking the birthplace of Panasonic in 1918.
The ward maintains seven distinct neighborhoods, including Fukushima, Ohiraki, Ebie, Sagisu, Yoshino, Noda, and Tamagawa, each contributing to local traditions.
Located 500 meters west of JR Osaka station, the ward features multiple transportation options including the JR Loop Line and municipal subway Sennichimae-Line.
The Osaka Municipal Wholesale Markets in southwest Fukushima functions as the primary food distribution center for Osaka residents.
