Osaka Tower, Communication tower in Kita-ku, Osaka, Japan

The Osaka Tower extended 158 meters into the sky with its steel frame structure and featured two observation decks at 102 meters above ground level.

The tower commenced operations on July 1, 1966, serving as a broadcasting facility for Asahi Broadcasting Corporation until its closure in 2008.

The tower design incorporated traditional Japanese pagoda structural principles, making it resistant to winds up to 90 meters per second.

The tower received 4,000 daily visitors during its peak and contained a Sky Studio used for live television broadcasts until the late 1990s.

The dismantling process in 2009 implemented the first-ever bottom-up demolition technique in Japan, known as the Takenaka Grip-down Method.
