Naka-Meguro

Naka-Meguro is a residential neighborhood in Meguro-ku where the Meguro River winds through tree-lined banks forming the area's main feature. Independent boutiques, design stores, and modern cafés occupy the riverside, while a photography museum offers rotating exhibitions throughout the year.

The neighborhood formed in 1932 when two towns merged to become part of Meguro ward in central Tokyo. The railway connection that followed helped establish it as a residential and commercial destination.

The Meguro River creates a gathering space where residents and visitors naturally pause to walk and observe the surroundings. Shops and cafés line the waterway, making the riverside a focal point where people connect with the neighborhood's daily rhythm.

Access is via the Tokyu-Toyoko Line and Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line, providing direct connections to nearby areas. The neighborhood is walkable and relatively flat, making it straightforward to explore on foot.

A specialized Starbucks Reserve Roastery occupies a four-story building with copper cladding directly along the river, one of only six such locations worldwide. Architecture enthusiasts notice this spot for its striking riverfront position and uncommon material choice.
