Masjid Indonesia Tokyo

Masjid Indonesia Tokyo is a four-story prayer building in Meguro with separate prayer areas for men and women on different floors. The structure also houses a library and cultural center in the basement that serves the community.

Construction began in 2015 with support from the Indonesian Embassy and local Islamic community organizations. The building was created to serve the growing Indonesian population in the Tokyo area.

The mosque serves as a meeting place where the Indonesian Muslim community in Tokyo gathers for prayer and social connection. Visitors can see how people use the space for worship, discussion, and community events throughout the week.

The building is open 24 hours daily and has accessibility features including ramps for wheelchair users. Visitors should understand that this is an active prayer space where respectful behavior and dress are expected.

The prayer hall connects to the Indonesian Republic School in Tokyo, allowing very large gatherings during Friday prayers and celebrations. This unusual link creates a flexible space arrangement that is rare in Tokyo's dense urban environment.
