Saihaku district, Administrative district in Tottori Prefecture, Japan
Saihaku district spans across 372 square kilometers of land in western Tottori Prefecture, containing four municipalities: Daisen, Hiezu, Hoki, and Nanbu.
The district emerged from the consolidation of Aseri and Aimi districts in April 1896, marking a significant administrative reorganization in the Meiji period.
The region maintains strong agricultural traditions with local farmers producing nashi pears, nagaimo yams, Japanese scallions, and watermelons throughout the district.
The district population reaches 50,436 residents distributed across its four towns, with a density of 135 persons per square kilometer.
Mount Daisen, the highest elevation in the Chugoku Mountains, stands within the district boundaries and shapes the local geography and activities.
