Taketoyo, Industrial port town in Chita District, Japan

Taketoyo extends across 26 square kilometers on the northeast corner of Chita Peninsula, bordering Mikawa Bay with sections within Mikawa Wan Quasi-National Park.

The settlement transformed from a village to a town status in 1891, later becoming an open port for trade with the United States and United Kingdom in 1899.

The town maintains traditional production facilities specializing in essential Japanese condiments including soy sauce and miso, alongside modern manufacturing operations.

The Central Japan Railway Company operates Taketoyo Station, which serves as the terminal station of the Taketoyo Line, connecting residents to the broader Aichi Prefecture network.

The Taketoyo Thermal Power Station, operated by Chubu Electric Power, functions as a primary economic engine for the town, generating both employment and municipal revenue.
