Mihama, Administrative town in Minamimuro District, Japan
Mihama is a town in Wakayama Prefecture on the southern edge of the Kii Peninsula. It stretches from hillside areas down to the Pacific coastline, blending rural landscapes with ocean views.
The area developed from holdings of the Tokugawa clan during the Edo period. The town as it exists today formed in 1958 when Atawa merged with surrounding villages.
The town maintains traditional horticultural practices, with numerous farmers cultivating mandarin orange groves throughout the seasons in the mild climate conditions.
The town is accessible by the JR Kisei Main Line and National Routes 42 and 311. Spring and autumn are ideal times to visit when hillside paths are easier to navigate.
Shichirimihama Beach stretches along the Pacific coastline with several natural destinations nearby. Fudo Falls and Squirrel Park offer visitors places to explore and spend time outdoors.
