Taka, Rural town in central Hyogo Prefecture, Japan.
Taka is a rural town in Hyogo Prefecture with extensive rice fields and natural landscapes that define its rural character. The area includes forests, farmland, and small villages scattered throughout the region.
Taka was created in 2005 through the merger of three former towns: Kami, Naka, and Yachiyo. This consolidation established the current administrative structure of the area.
The town is known for growing Yamada Nishiki rice, a variety used by sake breweries to make premium beverages. This traditional crop remains central to how people live and work in the community today.
You can reach Taka via National Route 427, with the nearest train station at Nishiwakishi on the JR West Kakogawa Line. The area is quite rural, so having your own transport helps you explore different parts of the region easily.
Part of the area lies within Kasagatayama-Sengamine Prefectural Natural Park, allowing visitors to hike through protected nature. This protected area lets you explore local plants and wildlife in their natural state.
