Shiodome Media Tower, Skyscraper and hotel in Higashi-Shinbashi, Japan

Shiodome Media Tower is a 34-story skyscraper reaching about 172 meters in Higashi-Shinbashi, combining office and media operations in its lower sections with hotel accommodations above. The Park Hotel Tokyo occupies the upper floors, creating a mixed-use building that blends commercial and hospitality functions.

Kyodo News launched the project for a new headquarters in Shiodome's E block, and in April 1999 Kajima Construction won the design-and-build contract after five firms were compared. Work began on 24 October 2000; the building was finished on 17 July 2003, and Park Hotel Tokyo opened on the 25th to 34th floors on 1 September 2003. The earlier Shiodome Media Tower Annex, also owned by Kyodo News, was completed in November 2001.

Kyodo News, Japan's nonprofit cooperative news agency, has its headquarters on floors 1–24, and the Associated Press and Yonhap maintain Tokyo bureaus in the building. On the lower levels, the News Art spaces host photo exhibitions and displays on the agency's work, open to the public.

The tower stands in the Shiodome Sio-Site E block in Higashi-Shinbashi. The ground-floor atrium, called News Art, is open to the public and holds news displays and exhibitions; it is built to the same height as the ceiling of the Yurikamome trains running on the elevated track beside it. The Park Hotel Tokyo occupies floors 25 to 34, reached by lift from the lobby.

The atrium runs from the 25th-floor hotel lobby up to the 34th floor, with all guest rooms placed around the outer edge so each opens onto the city view. The interior void left behind is described in Japanese sources as among the largest of any hotel in Tokyo. The 1st-floor atrium, level with the roof of the elevated Yurikamome trains passing alongside, is open to the public as a news-art space with exhibitions.
