Ōsaka Namba Station, Railway station in Namba district, Osaka, Japan.
Ōsaka Namba Station is a railway station in Namba district, Osaka, Japan, with three underground tracks on the third basement level. The tracks are served by an island platform and a side platform connected to upper levels by wide staircases and elevators.
The station opened on March 15, 1970 under the name Kintetsu Namba Station. In March 2009 the facility received its current name to clarify its connection to the larger transit complex.
Train travelers often find themselves moving between shops and restaurants spread across several floors that form a busy hub. Passengers switch quickly between lines or take brief breaks in the stores within the underground galleries.
Trains run toward Osaka Uehommachi, Yamato-Saidaiji, Nara, Koshien, and Kobe Sannomiya, with connections to other lines at several stops along the routes. The platforms have elevators and escalators that ease access to the deeper levels.
The station forms part of a larger transit complex alongside Namba Station and JR Namba Station, uniting several operators and lines within a connected facility. Travelers can move between the facilities without leaving the underground level.
