Wakaba-ku

Wakaba-ku extends over 84 square kilometers, making it the largest ward within Chiba City, with a population density of 1,800 residents per square kilometer.

The area transformed from separate villages into Wakaba Ward in 1992 when Chiba received designation as a government ordinance city, granting additional administrative autonomy.

Local residents participate in sandblasting glass art activities, creating personalized decorative items and gifts at community workshops throughout the district.

The ward office, situated at Sakuragi Kita 2-chome 1-1, provides municipal services to residents and handles administrative matters for the local population.

The ward contains multiple educational institutions, including Tokyo University of Information Sciences and Uekusa University, forming an academic cluster in the region.
