Taesongsan

Taesongsan is a mountain peak near Pyongyang standing roughly 270 meters high with multiple recreational facilities integrated throughout its natural terrain. The site features an outdoor skating rink, the Korea Central Zoo, and various trails that accommodate different levels of physical fitness.

The mountain developed as a recreational site through Pyongyang's expansion and later received a memorial cemetery on its western slope. This cemetery honors soldiers who died fighting during the Korean War era.

Residents visit the site for public gatherings and seasonal celebrations, particularly during national holidays and festive occasions. The mountain serves as a social space where people come together for leisure activities and community events.

The site welcomes visitors of varying abilities, with marked pathways and open areas for exploration throughout the grounds. Spring through autumn offers the best visiting conditions when all facilities operate fully.

An ice cream production center was established at the base of the mountain in recent years. The facility represents a contemporary investment in enhancing recreational amenities for the area.
