Mansudae Art Theatre, Theatre building in central Pyongyang, North Korea

Mansudae Art Theatre is a theatre building in central Pyongyang featuring modern architecture with large windows and symmetrical structures. It stands next to the Grand People's Study House and accommodates various artistic performances.

Completed in 1976 in the Mansudong area of Jung District, Pyongyang, the theatre was built as the home base of the Mansudae Art Company, one of North Korea's leading song-and-dance ensembles. Besides revolutionary operas and stage plays, it was formerly used for gatherings of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The theatre hosts the Samjiyon Band and presents traditional Korean music alongside modern theatrical productions. Specialized performance groups here work across different art forms, shaping the city's cultural life.

The theatre stands in Jung-guyok, near the Grand People's Study House on Mansudae hill, so it is usually reached on foot within a guided city walk. Foreign visitors enter North Korea only through authorised agencies and move with a guide; confirm with the agency whether a performance by the Samjiyon Band fits the itinerary.

The theatre is the home base of the Mansudae Art Company, one of North Korea's representative song-and-dance ensembles, and it also hosted meetings of the Korean Workers' Party in the past. It stands in Mansu-dong, Jung District, near the Grand People's Study House.
