Taedongmoon Cinema, Movie theater in Sungri Street, Chung-guyok, North Korea
Taedongmoon Cinema stands along Sungri Street with Greek-style columns decorating its facade next to the Taedong River in Pyongyang, North Korea.
Built in 1955 and opened in January 1956, this cinema marked a milestone as the first established motion picture venue in North Korea.
The cinema functions as the main location for domestic film screenings in Pyongyang and participates in the Pyongyang International Film Festival.
The cinema houses two separate screening rooms with a total capacity of 1,000 seats, accessible via the Chollima line at Sungri station.
Foreign films receive occasional screenings at Taedongmoon Cinema, though these showings remain limited to specifically invited audiences.
