Seo District

Seo District is an administrative area in western Daegu that spans a wide territory cut through by three major expressways: Gyeongbu, Guma, and Jungang. The district blends more urbanized neighborhoods with less densely built areas, creating a mix of different urban densities across its landscape.

The district grew from rural farmland into an urban area as Daegu expanded westward during the 20th century. This transformation made it a key part of the city's modern development, and its mixed character today reflects this ongoing change.

The district maintains 17 administrative dong divisions, each contributing to the local governance structure and community organization.

Daegu Subway Line 2 and the Gyeongbu railway line connect the area to other parts of the city and help with navigation. Public transit is the most practical way for visitors to move around the district and reach other neighborhoods.

Sangjungi-dong in the western section maintains a rural character that stands apart from the more built-up neighborhoods in the district. This contrast shows how differently development has unfolded within a single administrative area.
