The museum opened on March 23, 2005, to commemorate Heo Jun, a court physician who served during the Joseon Dynasty from 1546 to 1615.
The exhibits present the development of Korean traditional medicine through artifacts, manuscripts, and the influential medical text Dongui Bogam written by Heo Jun.
The entrance fee is 1,000 KRW for adults and 500 KRW for students, with the museum remaining closed on Mondays and major Korean holidays.
The museum building incorporates traditional Korean architectural elements while displaying ancient medical instruments and pharmaceutical preparation methods from the Joseon period.
