Seoul Botanic Park

Seoul Botanic Park is a botanical garden in Gangseo District covering approximately 500,000 square meters. The facility features multiple themed garden areas, a tropical greenhouse, and specialized sections dedicated to Korean native plants and aquatic species.

The park opened in 2019, transforming a former industrial site into an environmental education center. It showcases plant species from about twelve tropical and Mediterranean regions across the former industrial area.

The garden spaces display traditional Korean horticultural practices through carefully arranged native plants and seasonal flower displays. Visitors can observe how local gardening traditions shape the presentation of regional plant species throughout the park.

The park includes educational centers, rest areas, cafes, and gift shops with easy access via nearby subway stations and public transportation. Clear signage and orientation points throughout help visitors navigate the various garden areas comfortably.

The park maintains an experimental garden area where landscape designers develop new design trends using native Korean species and regional plant varieties. This research section allows professionals to test and refine innovative gardening concepts in a working environment.
