Yakhyeon Catholic Church

The building features Gothic architectural elements with a cruciform structure measuring 12 meters wide and 32 meters in length with arched windows.
Established in 1892, this first Western-style church in Korea emerged after the nation gained religious freedom and witnessed growth in Catholic population.
The church holds regular religious ceremonies and stands as a focal point for Catholic marriages, drawing couples from throughout Seoul for their celebrations.
Located near Chungjeongno Station on subway lines 2 and 5, the church opens daily from 09:00 to 18:00 except during religious services.
The church's name derives from Yakjeonhyeon, referring to a hill where medicinal herbs once grew in abundance during earlier periods.
