Vilnius Guggenheim Hermitage Museum, Art museum project in Vilnius, Lithuania

The Guggenheim Foundation announced the museum project in April 2008, selecting architect Zaha Hadid's design from three international proposals for construction.
The museum planned to display new media art, Fluxus collections, and works from both the Guggenheim Foundation and State Hermitage Museum collections.
The construction budget reached 75 million dollars, with initial plans to open in 2011 before facing delays and eventual cancellation in 2010.
The building design incorporated fluid forms and floating elements above green fields, creating a connection between the riverbanks and urban environment.
