Napoleon's Hill, Archaeological site in Aleksotas, Lithuania.

The hill rises 63.6 meters at the confluence of Jiesia and Nemunas rivers, providing extensive views across the surrounding Lithuanian landscape.

Napoleon Bonaparte used this strategic position on June 24, 1812, to direct his army of 60,000 troops crossing the Nemunas River via three pontoon bridges.

The mound contains remnants of Baltic settlements, with archaeological excavations revealing ancient pottery and tools from daily life between the 14th and 17th centuries.

The natural terrain of Napoleon's Hill makes the site accessible only by foot, requiring visitors to plan accordingly for the uphill walking experience.

Local inhabitants, according to regional tales, carried soil to create this elevated position specifically for Napoleon's troops during their passage through Lithuania.
