Žirmūnai Bridge, Concrete bridge across Neris River in Vilnius, Lithuania
The Žirmūnai Bridge spans 181 meters with three spans and four piers, connecting the districts of Žirmūnai and Antakalnis over the Neris River.
Engineers from Leningrad designed the bridge in 1964, and the Second Vilnius Bridge Construction Administration completed its construction in 1965.
The bridge replaced a cable ferry system that transported twenty people at a time across the river for five kopeks between 1960 and 1965.
The structure measures 20 meters between handrails and serves as a vital connection for vehicles and pedestrians traveling between northern and eastern Vilnius districts.
A sculpture titled 'Royal Apple' was installed beneath the bridge in 2016, adding an artistic element to the industrial structure.
