Tiškevičiai Palace, Baroque palace in Old Town, Vilnius, Lithuania.
Tiškevičiai Palace is a baroque structure located at the corner of Trakų and Pylimo streets in Vilnius Old Town. The building displays symmetrical facades with ornate classical details and was constructed as a noble residence.
The structure was built in the 18th century when architect Laurynas Gucevičius designed it for the noble Karpiai family. Later the building passed to the Tiškevičiai family, from whom it takes its current name.
The building now houses university departments where students study and work daily within its historic walls. The spaces blend their original grandeur with contemporary academic activity.
The building is regularly open to university visitors, with public areas accessible for viewing. Its location on a main street makes it easy to reach and the exterior architecture is fully visible from outside.
The building blends features from several periods because it was modified multiple times over the centuries under different owners. These layers of change are visible in its details and reflect the transition between noble families.
