Strazdumuiža

Strazdumuiža is a Neo-Classical manor house located at Pales Street 14 in Riga with decorative elements adorning its facade. The building sits within an English-style park that surrounds the property with landscaped grounds and tree-lined paths.

The manor was built in 1770 by the Budberg family and passed through several owners over time. In 1827 Johan Theodor Pychlau established a cotton and wool factory on the property, transforming its character significantly.

The manor functions as a center for blind and visually impaired individuals, providing them with a place for learning and community. It has become an important gathering space where regular programs and events take place for this community.

The property is best explored during daytime when sunlight highlights the architectural details and grounds. Visitors should expect flat terrain and allow time to rest in the park, as the estate is quite expansive.
