Al Wahda Dam

Al Wahda Dam spans across the Ouergha River valley and rises prominently, holding back vast amounts of water behind its structure. The installation includes spillway gates and a hydroelectric facility that processes the stored water for multiple uses.

Work on this major infrastructure project began in 1991 and was completed and officially opened in 1997. The completion marked a major turning point for water management and agriculture in the region.
