Ouzoud Falls, Cascading waterfall in Atlas Mountains, Morocco

The Ouzoud Falls create a continuous series of water drops across three distinct levels, reaching a total height of 110 meters into the El-Abid River gorge.

The waterfall system has formed over centuries through the erosive action of the El-Abid River, carving deep channels through the Atlas Mountains limestone formations.

The name Ouzoud originates from the Berber language, referring to the grain grinding activities that occurred near the falls using the water power for traditional mills.

Visitors can access the falls through a network of maintained paths, with local guides available at the entrance to lead tours lasting approximately three hours.

A permanent population of Barbary macaques inhabits the surrounding olive groves, making this the sole waterfall in North Africa where these primates regularly appear.
