Manuha Temple, Buddhist temple in Myinkaba, Myanmar
The rectangular temple contains three seated Buddha statues and a reclining Buddha statue, each occupying separate chambers within the structure.
King Manuha, the captured Mon ruler, built this temple in 1067 using funds from selling a precious jewel during his time in captivity.
The temple design reflects Buddhist traditions with its colossal Buddha images, where devotees place offerings of rice and money in golden bowls.
The temple structure includes narrow steps leading to the reclining Buddha room and side entrances providing access to the seated images.
The oversized Buddha statues within confined spaces represent King Manuha's expression of discomfort during his imprisonment in Bagan.
