Auberge d'Italie

The Auberge d'Italie is a Knights residence in Birgu built in the rectangular style with Baroque architectural details throughout. Its rooms were laid out around a central courtyard, following the traditional design approach for noble houses of that period.

The building was constructed in the 16th century as accommodation for Italian knights of the Order of St John. It functioned as their residence and hosted their gatherings and shared meals.
