Silverbird Galleria, Shopping and entertainment complex in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.
Silverbird Galleria is a four-story shopping and entertainment complex on Victoria Island in Lagos, Nigeria, with retail stores, restaurants, a cinema, and radio studios. The lower floors house mobile network offices and internet services, while the upper floors contain electronics shops, game arcades, dining options, and beauty services.
Silverbird Galleria opened in 2004 under the Silverbird Group, led by Ben Murray-Bruce, and introduced the first five-screen cinema in sub-Saharan Africa. This launch set a new standard for shopping and entertainment in Lagos and the wider region.
The cinema screens both Nigerian and international films, so you can watch a local production and a Hollywood title on the same visit. This draws a mixed crowd of young adults, families, and film fans who all share the same space.
The building is easy to navigate, with mobile services and internet access near the entrance and food, cinema, and entertainment on the upper floors. Plan extra time if you want to cover several floors, especially on weekends when it gets busy.
On the first floor, visitors can watch Rhythm FM radio broadcasts live through glass windows, with a direct view of presenters at work. This mix of retail and live broadcasting is found in very few shopping centers anywhere in the world.
