Ris Church, Lutheran church in Vestre Aker, Norway
The structure features three significant bells from 1930, with the largest weighing 1,746 kg and representing the heaviest bell cast in Norway.
The church opened its doors in June 1932 following a construction period that required 723,000 Norwegian krones, including 284,000 from public donations.
The church displays stained glass art by Per Vigeland and contains a Christ sculpture by Sigri Welhaven above the chancel area.
The church capacity changed from 750 to 500 seats after modifications that removed certain benches and a section of the gallery.
The building deviates from traditional church architecture by following a north-south orientation instead of the standard west-east alignment.
