Valencia

Valencia is a component city in Bukidnon, Philippines, located across flat plains and rolling hills at 634 meters elevation in the Mindanao region. The landscape consists mainly of agricultural lands that form the backbone of the local economy.

The area began as a settlement called Panglibatuhan along the Pulangi River banks before breaking away from Malaybalay in 1959. It gained city status in 2001.

The Golden Harvest Festival each January 6th brings together the community to celebrate the agricultural cycle and rural traditions that shape daily life. The Valencia City Parochial Fiesta on August 28th honors Saint Augustine and remains a significant gathering for residents.

The city has multiple healthcare facilities including Adventist Medical Center and operates through 31 barangay districts for local governance. Main roads connect key areas, and daily markets serve as gathering points for residents and visitors.

Mount Kalatungan rises above 1,000 meters within city boundaries and attracts researchers interested in the region's natural environment. This geographical feature makes Valencia a center for ecological research and agricultural innovation.
