The city operates one of the largest public markets in the province, selling shoes, headwear and locally produced food items. The market opens in the morning and draws many locals and visitors especially on weekends.
The city received component status in 2010 after being ranked as the highest-income municipality nationwide in 2007. This step reflects rapid economic growth and modern development in the greater Manila area.
