Santa Rosa Arch

Santa Rosa Arch stands at a central junction in the city, marked by four lion sculptures positioned at its base. A balcony with decorative friezes adorns the upper section of the structure.

The monument was built in 1960, replacing an earlier Spanish colonial guard tower from 1859 that had protected the area from local bandits. This structure marked a significant shift in how the city presented itself to the outside world.

The arch appears on the city seal and helped Santa Rosa earn its nickname as the Lion City of South Luzon. Local residents use it as a meeting point and gathering spot.

The arch serves as a main reference point for navigation, with numerous public transportation options and shopping centers nearby. The area is easy to access and offers plenty to explore around it.

Local sculptor David Dia added Art Deco elements in the 1930s, including a sunburst design and relief sculptures of trumpeting angels. These artistic details give the arch its distinctive visual character.
