Santa Rosa Arch, Historic entrance arch in Santa Rosa, Philippines.
The Santa Rosa Arch stands at a central junction of Santa Rosa city, featuring four lion sculptures at its base and a balcony with decorative friezes.
Built in 1960, this structure replaced an earlier Spanish colonial guard tower from 1859 that protected the area from local bandits.
The monument appears on the official city seal and contributed to Santa Rosa receiving the designation as the Lion City of South Luzon.
The arch serves as a primary reference point for navigation, with numerous public transportation options and shopping centers in the immediate vicinity.
A local sculptor, David Dia, added Art Deco elements to the structure in 1931, including a sunburst design and relief sculptures of trumpeting angels.
