Dodiongan Falls

Dodiongan Falls is a natural waterfall in Digkilaan near Iligan City, dropping roughly 20 meters over irregular rock formations. A large pool of cold water sits at its base, perfect for swimming on hot days.

For generations, this waterfall has been a vital water source for communities across Northern Mindanao, supporting their daily needs and agricultural work. The region developed as an important settlement because of this natural resource.

Local families visit regularly on weekends to swim and spend time together, making it a social gathering spot for the community. The waterfall serves as a meeting place where neighbors catch up and children play in the cool water.

Visitors can catch a jeepney to Barinaut Terminal, then switch to a habal-habal for the final leg of the journey to reach this spot. A roughly 15-minute walk follows, which includes crossing two small streams, so wearing sturdy shoes and bringing water is wise.

The water splits across an unusual rock formation as it falls, creating a pattern that resembles angel wings when viewed from certain angles. This striking effect is most visible during higher water flow and at specific times of day.
