Agoo Basilica

Agoo Basilica is a Catholic church building with baroque-style architecture, featuring two bell towers and a rose-colored stained glass window on its front facade. The structure is made of reinforced concrete and provides space for religious services and ceremonies.

Franciscan friars established the original church structure in 1578 using local materials like nipa and bamboo. The current basilica was later rebuilt in reinforced concrete and grew into an important pilgrimage destination.

This basilica serves as a gathering place where worshippers come to venerate Mary, the Mother of Jesus. Religious processions and celebrations shape the rhythm of community life here throughout the year.

The basilica welcomes visitors during regular hours for prayer and religious ceremonies. It helps to dress respectfully and move quietly, as this is an active place of worship.

Inside, the basilica houses a historical statue of Our Lady of Charity that has survived multiple earthquakes. This statue holds special religious significance and is awaiting a canonical coronation ceremony.
