BenCab Museum, Art museum in Tuba, Benguet, Philippines.
BenCab Museum is an art museum in Tuba, Benguet, displaying contemporary Filipino artworks across multiple galleries. Alongside paintings, sculptures, and installations from Benedicto Cabrera's collection, the space also features local crafted objects and works by other artists.
The museum opened in 2009 after Benedicto Cabrera returned from London to Baguio City in 1985 and selected this location for its regional ties. The decision to build the museum in the mountains reflected a wish to connect local art forms with contemporary works.
The Cordillera Gallery displays handcrafted objects from northern Philippine mountain regions, including rice figures and traditional tools from local communities. This collection gives visitors a direct sense of how highland life and work developed.
The museum sits about six kilometers from central Baguio City and is open to visitors from Tuesday through Sunday. The grounds are easy to walk around, though the terrain is hilly and paths wind through the gardens and galleries.
The museum grounds include an organic farm, duck pond, and mini-forest with walking trails that invite exploration. The attached Cafe Sabel offers views of the surrounding landscape and connects the visit with local food.
