Mabini Bridge, Road bridge in Manila, Philippines.
The Mabini Bridge is an eight-lane concrete structure crossing the Pasig River and connecting Santa Mesa district with the neighborhoods of Paco and Pandacan. The bridge serves as a major traffic corridor through the city.
The structure was initially built in 1945 as a pontoon bridge by the US Army Corps of Engineers to support military operations during the Liberation of Manila. It was later replaced with a permanent concrete structure.
The bridge carries the name of Apolinario Mabini, a Philippine revolutionary leader, as a tribute to his role in the independence struggle, with the naming chosen in 1967.
The bridge works well for pedestrians using dedicated walkways alongside vehicle traffic for safe crossing. Best visiting times are outside peak traffic hours when the lanes are less congested with vehicles.
The sides of the bridge feature brass profiles that light up in different colors after dark. These colored lights create a changing display viewable from both riverbanks in the evening.
