Pandacan Church, Parish church in Pandacan district, Manila, Philippines.
Pandacan Church is a Catholic parish church in the Pandacan district of Manila, located at the intersection of Jesus Street and Pandacan Street. The structure is currently undergoing reconstruction following extensive damage from an electrical fire in July 2020.
The church originated in 1712 when it separated from Sampaloc parish. The first stone structure was completed in 1760 after approximately 28 years of construction.
The church preserves a Santo Niño statue carved from yakal wood in 2021, which replaced a four-century-old original figure. This image continues to connect the parish community to its spiritual identity and local devotion.
The site is easy to locate at the intersection of Jesus Street and Pandacan Street and remains accessible to visitors even while reconstruction continues. Religious services are currently held in an outdoor patio area during the rebuilding process.
A sacred well discovered in the 1600s played a special role in the parish's story, as children reportedly found the original Santo Niño image there. Water from this well was venerated by believers across generations for its reported healing properties.
