Cape Bolinao Lighthouse, Maritime beacon in Bolinao, Philippines
The Cape Bolinao Lighthouse rises 27 meters above Punta Piedra Point, standing as a navigational aid along the West Philippine Sea coast.
Engineers from three nations - American, British, and Filipino - constructed this lighthouse in 1905 to guide maritime vessels through regional waters.
The lighthouse represents early 20th-century Philippine maritime infrastructure, with its original equipment sourced from England and France.
Visitors need to climb 140 steps in a spiral staircase to reach the illumination room, which sits 76 meters above sea level.
The lighthouse operated on kerosene for eight decades until 1999, when solar panels and modern beacon lights replaced the traditional fuel system.
