Kluki, Pomeranian Voivodeship, Open-air museum village in Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland
Kluki is an open-air museum in Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland, set within a small village near Smołdzino. The site brings together wooden farmhouses, barns, and outbuildings spread across a flat, tree-lined plot of land.
The village was established in the medieval period as a Slovincian settlement and survived through many shifts in the region's political borders. After World War Two, the last Slovincian residents left, and the site was later turned into a museum.
Kluki preserves the way of life of the Slovincians, a West Slavic group who once lived along this stretch of the Pomeranian coast. Inside the farmhouses, everyday objects are arranged as if the families had only just stepped out.
The site sits on the edge of Slowinski National Park and is easiest to reach by car via Smołdzino. Visitors should wear sturdy shoes and bring layers, as the paths are unpaved and the weather in this part of the coast can change quickly.
Kluki falls within the boundaries of Slowinski National Park, meaning a visit to the museum can be combined with a walk through a protected landscape of dunes and lakes nearby. This combination of an ethnographic site and a nature reserve is rare in Poland.
