Międzygórze

Międzygórze is a village sitting in a deep mountain valley at around 680 meters elevation, surrounded by forests and the peaks of the Śnieżnik Massif. The settlement lies where two rivers meet, creating a landscape defined by steep terrain and dense woodland.

The settlement started in 1580 as a woodcutting community where two rivers meet, originally built around the timber trade. Over time it transformed from a working village into a place for tourists and visitors.

The buildings here show Tyrolean style influences that shaped the area when it became a holiday destination in the 1800s. You can see this heritage reflected in how the houses are built and how the village is laid out today.

The village has year-round mountain rescue services with modern equipment for emergencies. The mountainous location and forest trails require good planning before you visit.

Around a waterfall here you'll find stone staircases and viewing platforms built during the 1800s when tourism was developing. These structures are a rare example of early tourist infrastructure created in a rural mountain setting.
