Brama Młyńska in Stargard

Brama Młyńska is a Gothic gate at the northern entrance to Stargard, featuring two towers connected by a brick passage that spans the Ina River. The structure displays the red-brick construction and Gothic details typical of this region.

The gate was built around 1500 as part of the medieval fortification system and controlled river traffic by lowering a heavy barrier into the water each night. This mechanism protected the harbor from unauthorized access and threats.

The structure reflects the local architectural style that also appears in Saint Mary's Church, creating visual continuity across the city's older districts. This shared design language shows how medieval builders shaped the area's appearance.

The building now houses the Stargard Society of Fine Art Lovers and welcomes visitors interested in medieval structures and local history. The riverbank paths offer good views of the towers and gate from multiple angles.
