Leśnica

Leśnica is a municipality located in Strzelce District within Opole Voivodeship in southwestern Poland. The settlement sits on gently rolling terrain and is home to around 2,600 residents spread across a primarily rural landscape.

The settlement first appeared in written records in 1217 through a decree of Duke Casimir I of Opole during the Piast dynasty period. The area later became part of the shifting territorial changes that shaped Upper Silesia during the 1900s.

The name comes from the Polish word 'las' meaning forest, reflecting the wooded character of the surrounding region. This connection to the landscape remains visible in how the community relates to its natural environment today.
