Reinhold Richter Villa, Heritage villa in Old Polesie, Łódź, Poland.
The Reinhold Richter Villa stands at Skorupki Street 6/8 and displays architectural elements inspired by German and English design traditions from the early 1900s. The building features a detailed facade and structured interior spaces that exemplify the prosperous residential construction of the city.
Built between 1903 and 1904 by architect Ignacy Stebelski, the residence belonged to the Richter family until World War II. After the war it was converted into an educational institution and now serves an administrative function.
The residence reflects the architectural preferences of wealthy manufacturers who built their homes during Łódź's period of industrial expansion. It shows how successful factory owners expressed their prosperity and status through elaborate residential designs.
The residence currently functions as the main office of the Łódź University of Technology rector and requires advance notice for visits. The best time to explore is during business hours, and visitors should obtain permission beforehand.
The residence shares its grounds with a neighboring home built by Reinhold's brother Joseph, forming an interconnected family estate. This dual compound within Bishop Michał Klepacz Park is a rare example of linked family architecture from that era.
