Oak Fabrykant, Natural monument oak tree in Klepacz Park, Łódź, Poland.
Oak Fabrykant is a natural monument in Klepacz Park, rising about 22.5 meters high with a trunk perimeter of roughly 4.58 meters. The tree spreads its branches across the university grounds, creating a focal point within the park landscape.
The oak was planted in 1842, becoming a witness to nearly two centuries of industrial development in Łódź. In 2023, it received recognition as European Tree of the Year, affirming its exceptional standing.
The name Fabrykant references the industrial past of Łódź, connecting this natural landmark to the city's manufacturing heritage. The tree stands within university grounds and represents how nature has remained present through the city's transformation over time.
The tree is located in the public Klepacz Park, which has walking paths and benches throughout. The park is easily accessible from the university campus and provides plenty of space for visitors to walk around and observe the oak up close.
One of the tree's main branches curves into a distinctive S-shape and extends more than 20 meters long. In spring, a carpet of blue snowdrops and Siberian squills appears beneath the tree.
