Halicz

Halicz is a mountain summit in the Bieszczady range of southern Poland and rises to one of the highest peaks in the area. The summit sits along established hiking routes that connect through the region's natural landscape.

The mountain was once known by a different name and served as grazing land for livestock before the Second World War. This pastoral use shaped the hillsides for many decades before the area became protected.

The mountain forms part of the European long-distance path E8, connecting hikers to a network of 315 peaks across multiple national borders.

The walk to the summit requires a moderate level of fitness and should be planned for several hours. Bring proper footwear and weather protection as conditions on the exposed ridge can change quickly.

From the summit, clear days offer views that stretch across borders to neighboring mountain ranges. This perspective reveals how the peaks form part of a larger connected landscape that transcends political boundaries.
