Jaskinia w Tarnicy, Cave entrance near Tarnica summit, Poland.

Jaskinia w Tarnicy is a cave with two shafts descending about 16 meters into the mountain structure through a narrow passage. The entrances are visible from outside and reveal how water has worked through the stone over a long time.

The cave was discovered in March 2003 and documented by members of the Beskid Speleological Club a few months later in July. These early visits created the first records of this underground formation.

The cave is part of the Bieszczady Mountains speleological heritage and shows how natural underground structures formed in this region. Visitors can see evidence of how researchers have documented these chambers and their role in understanding local geology.

The entrance is located near the yellow hiking trail from Tarnica Pass. Access was sealed by National Park authorities in 2008 for visitor protection and safety.

The cave sits at 1,340 meters elevation and is the southernmost of its kind in Poland. This location makes it a rare example of underground formations at this extreme geographic position in the country.
