Bukowe Berdo

Buchenspitze is a mountain summit in the Bieszczady range in southeastern Poland with multiple peaks of varying heights. The highest elevation reaches 1313 meters and offers views across the surrounding mountain landscape from its position.

Mountain paths through this area have served as crossing routes for local communities between valleys since the 16th century. These traditional routes still shape how people move through the terrain today.

The beech forests covering the slopes give the mountain its name and shape how the landscape appears to visitors. These trees are especially noticeable in autumn when leaves turn color and blanket the hillsides in browns and golds.

A marked trail departs from Muczne village and travels through meadows and forests toward the summit. The time of year affects both ground conditions and visibility, so preparing for changing weather helps make the walk more enjoyable.

From this summit hikers look out onto the San River valley and the neighboring mountains Krzemień and Tarnica. These viewpoints are often surprisingly clear and provide comprehensive insight into the geography of the mountain range.
