Łódź Hills Landscape Park, Nature park in Stare Skoszewy, Poland
The Parc naturel des collines de Łódź is a protected landscape park near the village of Stare Skoszewy, in the Łódź Voivodeship of Poland. It covers rolling hills, forests, and open fields that form a varied terrain used for walking, cycling, and spending time outdoors.
The land was historically used for farming and belonged to larger rural estates before receiving protected status. Over time, it was formally designated as a landscape park to keep the area free from further development.
The park has marked trails for walkers and cyclists, and sturdy footwear is a good idea since the terrain can be hilly and uneven in places. As a protected area, visitors are expected to stay on the marked paths and take their rubbish with them when they leave.
Despite sitting just beside the city of Łódź, the interior of the park feels remarkably rural, with no visible urban infrastructure in sight. In certain sections during summer, wild berries can be picked, something visitors from the nearby city particularly enjoy.
